Unknown Speaker  0:55

Shine today podcast varsity squad. This is Scott Ferguson and I’ve been looking forward to this interview with my hot hunt and prosper. My bro my mo bro set. He is a keynote speaker and coach by using techniques learned from his 25 years in the health and wellness industry. And folks, if you’re watching on YouTube, or wherever out there, this dude doesn’t look like he could be in anything for 25 years. He’s put together like a brick. He’s handsome guy. He’s a total go giver. Right? He teaches clients, companies and teams how to leverage fear and stress to go after what they want with a greater sense of awareness and confidence, while learning stress management problem solving techniques to overcome obstacles and roadblocks in both their personal and professional lives. He’s also the creator of the new alpha Academy, a 90 day program designed to help successful men rediscover who they are outside of their title. And also we’re going to dig in to his redefine program and also into what he does for my fellow veterans out there. So Moe, thank you for coming on. Please take your time and take the time introduce yourself to the varsity squad. But first, what’s your favorite color? And why red? Yeah, color is red. Yeah, yeah. Why is that? It just it pulls me in that not like a deep, deep red? I just can’t not look at it. Yeah. I had a home here a couple years ago and it was Creekside home lot of green trees and stuff. And there were two red dragonflies that showed up every spring. It Yeah, every spray to red dragonflies and I would just sit there and stare at them. So anything red just draws me in. I love it. Matt, were you into fire engines when you’re a kid and stuff? trucks and stuff?

Unknown Speaker  2:33

I was it. No.

Unknown Speaker  2:36

I’m like, I’m a blue red guy. Guess I’m a purple. You know? Yeah. And I asked a question because we we build all the marketing colors are kind of around what you put put out there and get a little personality action. But let’s get to the origins man upon prosper maybe a little bit before what brought you in to helping people level up? Yeah, absolutely. So hunt prosper was created. Actually, a full transparency on prosper was my girlfriend’s name of her company. And she was we were talking right, Kirsten, yeah, Kirsten Asher, who really does what I do with women, what she had created, hunt, prosper several years ago. And we were talking about it and she was wanting to go a little bit different direction. And I was wanting to redefine what I was doing my role with in personal development, health, health and health. And she was like, why don’t you just take hunt and prosper, because it’s what we’re talking about anyway. And, you know, there’s when you when you hear the name, a lot of people mistake it for hunting, which you know, bow hunting, shooting rifles, etc. It’s not that it’s about going and getting what you want. If you want anything in life, you have to go get it, you have to hunt for it, just like we did, as we have evolved, since the beginning of time, we hunted for food, we gathered food, we had to go out and we had to go get it. So the the, the emphasis of hunt and prosper is whatever you want in life is not going to be given everything is earned. So get up and go after it and go get it. So that is what hunt and prosper is all about. And in my in my in my two and a half decades in the fitness industry. The majority of that was spent being a personal trainer, and studying integrative medicine, holistic nutrition before I dove into the mindset side psychology, meditation, breathwork, etc. I noticed a lot of men, particularly successful men, and the clientele that I worked with were insanely successful in business, but they were miserable personally, and I’m talking about guys in their 30s 40s and 50s. That, you know, couldn’t do a traveling lunch like couldn’t take a step forward without falling over. There’s zero balance, zero self confidence had no clue what to do outside of their job title. You know, their their wives weren’t happy with it. I saw this on a daily basis. And I can’t tell you the amount of men that I talked to even now that come into my program and just friends of mine that are that. They say yeah, man, I’ve done all the things but I Literally hollow inside you I had a conversation with a gentleman a few months ago and that was his verbatim. He said, Man, I own multiple orthodontic clinics in the DFW area. I’ve got houses, I got a great wife, I’ve got kids, they’re dialed in. He has he looked at me said, but Dude, I’m hollow, is I have no purpose. I don’t know what makes me happy. And that’s what i that is that is my calling in my job to fix or not really to fix, but to show you how to rediscover that side of you. Because when you do that, because there’s so many coaching programs that try to get you to the seven figure income make more money to increase your wealth, man, right? Yeah, I’m increasing the heart, I’m increasing the mind. And when you connect these two together, everything else works out the way it should. You know, when you’re working as your best self, when you put you first, then you’re going to be the best version of you, for everybody else around you. Love it. That’s the that’s my goal. What makes you feel qualified to be able to help these gentlemen level up? Yeah, I’ve done it for a ton over two and a half decades. I know from experience on a day in and day out basis. What makes these men tick? I know what makes them. I know what what I know the triggers, I know where they’re lacking. And in my work with the adaptive population, I know what’s possible. I know what is absolutely possible when we have someone with a spinal cord injury, and the doctor said you’ll never walk again. And they rolled into our foundation. And then nine weeks later, they’re walking again, or a veteran or civilian with suicidal ideations is like I don’t know what to do I have all these thoughts. I just don’t know how to handle this. And then through the process that we take them through, they are fulfilled. Do they have those thoughts? Occasionally? Yes, they do. But they know how to handle it. So my experiences in my ability to do this is based on literally two and a half decades in the trenches working with these humans Love it. Love it. So when you’re starting to bring somebody into your your program, is there if you don’t mind sharing, is there any secret sauce you use to help them kind of identify and find their blind spot? Yeah, it’s it’s language, the very first thing that we tackle is language. How do you talk to yourself? What do you say to yourself? Are you your own worst critic? Or are you your best self advocate? And the thing that I say, anytime I speak in front of a company and organization, a team, or with my men, one on one, or in my new alpha Academy, is how long would you be friends with somebody that talk to you the way that you talk to yourself?

Unknown Speaker  7:34

Exactly. Think about that. If your wife, if your team member if your boss, or someone was sitting across from you, and they spoke to you the way that you speak to yourself on a daily basis, how long would you be with that person? Not well? What do you think they stay with that? Like stay with that person in their head or Sue that person they’re being? Why would I think that is? It’s that’s what that’s what’s taught to its men, especially as men like we’re taught to, to be strong to not have the feelings to you Don’t cry, we suppress that stuff. We push it down. We compartmentalize it. We don’t we don’t talk to be your workout. Shut up and work harder. Yeah, don’t talk about this stuff. And so we’ve been programmed to do that, because that’s what we’ve seen all the quote successful men do in life is Bs, hard charging doom. But when you pull back the curtain, they’re just they’re not happy. Right? So it’s, so it’s focusing on the negating language. What do you What are you saying to yourself? Are you full of Kant’s? wants don’t shouldn’t? Or are you focused on possibility? What can you create? What are you capable of, I don’t care what you can’t do it, you probably know this, as well, as a coach, and any businessman knows this. If you come to me with a problem, I want you to have a solution on top of that. So instead of saying I can’t do this, right now you say, I am currently working on and fill in the blank lava. So then you’re neurologically and physiologically psychologically, you start to operate and possibility and creation versus fear and failure and all the negatives. Yeah, I love that. Like you’re changing you’re rewiring their language, but as a coach, you’re actually they’re actually doing it themselves because you’re pulling it out of them with strong questions. You’re saying I frickin love that man. So when you’re maybe into this discovery period, then mold before they really they hire you? They hire hunt, prosper. Is there any Is there any good question that you wish they would ask you but never do?

Unknown Speaker  9:35

Oh, that’s a great question.

Unknown Speaker  9:37

Because as men do you you mentioned it like we’re wired a certain way, bro. like yeah, it’s like you know, they say you are what you think about most of the time if that was the case, I’d be boobs and a nice but you know, and I’m sorry, but we did deeper. You know, I’m saying we did do like yeah, like what not what do you think that they would ask you because I’ve been that guy bro. Luckily I unfortunately didn’t know you are also when I heard you about I have a guy. That’s a lot like you that really blasted me through. Like, what do you think that you wish they would ask you? What I wish they would ask me? That’s a great question. I want to think about that for a minute.

Unknown Speaker  10:10

Mmm hmm.

Unknown Speaker  10:15

I don’t know. I don’t know that there’s a question that I want them to ask me. Right. Um, I don’t know. I just when I talk to someone, I know the potential that’s within them that’s already there. So, you know, maybe, I don’t know what’s expected of them. Yeah, what times? Yeah. Most people. They’re like, they don’t even add. I’m like this. I’m gonna tell you what’s expected. Yeah, what do you expect me to expect you to be honest, I expect you to be Yeah, I love that. That’d be that’d be a great question. What? What do you need me to do? I need you to be honest, I need you to do I need you to be raw, I got you to get, you know, like, I need you to have emotion. That’s what I need to do. strip it down. So I think I know the answer this question Mo. But if I’m at a networking event, which you know, here in Florida, we’re allowed to press and flush again and meet people and and talk and I’m talking to somebody one to one on a corner. You know, I’m shutting off and I’m listening to ears in the mouth for a reason. Right? So what am I hearing from them? That I could pick up on cues that make them a good prospect connection or referral on prosper? That they’re looking for something more? You can just get it man, you could tell in someone’s body language, like hey, and it’s it’s getting past the blanket question of what do you do? It’s Tell me about yourself, man, what do you what do you like to do? What do you what do you enjoy doing outside of your job? And a lot of times guys back now No. Or, you know, like to golf here and there. I really don’t have much yet. Let’s find purpose. Like what do you? How much do you know about yourself? Right? Yeah. How much do you know about your health? Your body? So in a lot of times, it’s nothing. You’d be surprised if the grown men successful men, you they don’t point your hamstrings. I know. They can’t enough it might not that my role is physical. It’s not there’s a physical component, but I do because you have to know your body. But it’s really just you can tell the men that are unhappy. They’re stressed. Like how you doing man, man? It just busy. I don’t have time. That’s the guy I want that I don’t have time guy. I’m stressed the guy that guy that’s it’s just for charging. I don’t have time. I’m so stressed out. Right? That that guy? That’s where you want the person that’s really striving for I know you call it balance. I call it harmony. But yeah, looking for someone like that. I love that. I appreciate that most so. Have you seen Back to the Future? The movie of course. Okay. Yeah. knows. How old are you if you don’t mind sharing 46 Wow, dude, I’m 49 do we? Oh my gosh. Dude, we look good, bro. Hey, so let’s get in that DeLorean with Marty McGee. Yeah, let’s go back to the 22 year old male. All right, what kind of knowledge nuggets would you drop on moda maybe help him level up blast, blast through or shorten that learning curve just a little bit. I would tell him to dive deep into psychology that go that’s what I would tell him to do. I would tell him to start learning about the brain I would start I would tell him to start learning about meditation and breathwork now so that when when he is by the time he’s 30 he is yours above everyone else right and ability that not not in a boisterous way but in a way that I can help lead other people faster. I love it. I love you listened. Yeah, good. Yeah. Especially the way you would I think the way that you would give it to him Absolutely. What so well, how do you want your dash? Remember that little line between your incarnation date, your expiration date, your life date? How do you want most dashed remember brother? Oh, I want to I want to be remembered as as a teacher and as a giver. I want to be remembered as someone who dedicated his life to service and making helping other people be better. That’s what I want. That is what I was put on this planet to do is not again, not in a prideful way, but in a way that I want to show you. The keys to unlocking happiness and potential in your life. That’s what Moe did for me. That’s what he showed me how to do. I think that you’re going to you’re planting seeds right now. It’s going to grow into trees that you’ll never sit in the shade man. You know what I’m saying? I think that’s what’s happening with you, man. That’s awesome, brother. So what do you think people misunderstand the most about MMA? They that I get that. I’m intimidating. A lot. You got the higher the bill looks like. Yeah, yeah, exactly. Um, yeah, I’m a very sensitive human.

Unknown Speaker  15:13

But I can also be extremely violent if I need to be you know, it’s but it’s uh, yeah, I think that’s the most misunderstood thing that that’s true there right there bro. Yes, ego set aside me like listen man, you know I’m really not a douchebag you know, because again I’m 61 I’m 265 so when I walk in people are like, shit I’m like, I’d give everybody hugs and stuff. Yeah, that’s the biggest grits as Yeah, that’s awesome. So mo let’s take out of out of this equation. Let’s take out our our cell phone tablets computers. No, nothing electronic. What are three things mo can’t live without Oh, is food included in this thing? Oh baby chicken wings of me Do you know a place in DFW and I come take me some way. Yes, I got you. I’ll say I got you lined up and they three things I cannot live without Kirsten. Kirsten? Yes, absolutely. Yeah. Yeah. So I would say journal. Okay. Okay. I would say movement is as far as like, and again, like expressive movement, dance flow. Things like that. Maybe? Yeah, yeah. And it’s a toss up the last one between bacon and a filet o bacon. And I have that man can i bro? Right? Yeah. How about bacon? Honestly, we could take that bacon wrap away. Yeah, I love it. That would be fun when you talk breathwork like I study myself and I took up later in life when I was 45 like four years? Yeah, like you said you wish you would have started early to like I really am and Wim Hof. Okay, and I’m into like Troy Casey the certified health nut I love his his breathing for to go to bed and also probably on Tuesday mornings, under master Todd mcglothlin. What What do you practice? I have a variation. A lot of times, it’s just it’s a lot of the the four the four count box breath. Okay. It’ll, because I need to I’m going going a lot for what I do physically and things I’m preparing for personally. So I need to get into more but alpha parasympathetic nervous system state primarily. So I do a lot of deep breathing. I will do I will do Wim Hof. In the mornings, I will do another type of Yeah, I’ll do another type of 30 breaths before I train. Like I’m getting ready for a go ruck selection event in October which is 48 hours of just selection basically. And so I did the pre last year and so I know what what that entails. And I know that breathwork is key so I’m really trying to increase my volume and capacity for for breath as as I’m going through my training so but primarily what I focus on 90% of time is that diaphragmatic nice relax. from the bottom up, man. Yeah. Oh man. Yeah. For years I just hit my pelvic floor this year. Like yeah took four years to get to my pelvic floor and I’m talking I breathe every day. Well I mean obviously we breathe but it’s like profits the closest anything like you can live without you sunlight for years you know your direct sunlight you know food for two weeks water for a week of breath nearly three minutes you know right and it’s like that attack that and I love that you brought up breath work man. That’s awesome. So mote What do you What’s your definition of a life well lived. A life well lived to me is a life with, with with with purpose, a life with exploration a life with fun and a life of getting that is a life well lived. You can put those four things together that you’ve got it. That’s you and you have to put yourself first in that equation. Hey, time to shine today podcast varsity squad. We’re back with my really good friend from hunting prosper rope mo bro set in mo we like have a little leveling up lightning round you and I could talk you and I could talk for hours on each row. What age physically would you stay for the rest of your life? 32 Dude, I say 28 to 32 swag. I’ve been interviewed. I’ve been asked that. That’s the number I said was 32 we’re Kindred brothers. Yeah, so any favorite charity organization like to give your time or money to adaptive training foundation. Love it so bad right now. Last question, and you can elaborate on this one a little bit. But what’s the best decade of music 6070s 80s or 90s?

Unknown Speaker  21:15

Oh

Unknown Speaker  21:18

think 80s

Unknown Speaker  21:19

Yeah, big hair don’t care. Everything in the 80s right? Yeah, rap. Yes, you toe I reservation. Duran Duran, the care that everything I mean everything dude, it was such such a everything happened in the 80s. Yes, yeah. So would you graduate by 9495 9393? Okay, guy was 90. So like, we’re right there. We’ve been in school. Yeah. Awesome, man. So well, how can we find your brother? Yeah, you can find me my website again is hunt dash prosper calm. I am on Instagram at hunt, underscore prosper. Facebook, you can just look up my name my full name Morris bros that also have the Facebook page on prosper. And then on LinkedIn, it’s just my full name Morris brissette. Excellent. I love it. and talk to us about this. The men’s Academy brother. Yeah, online mastering for your program. Yeah, it’s essentially a mastermind. I’m just trying to eliminate the word masterminds. I feel like it’s being overused. So it is a it’s a men’s Leadership Academy where I take up to 12 men and one cohort and take them through three phases of purge prepare in purpose. So we purge physically, we purge emotionally. So we purge all the negative language, we purge physical spaces, we get clear with individuals in our lives, we we learn to take care of ourselves first. And then we go into phase two, which is prepare. So I make sure that my man are tactically and physically ready for emergency situations, as a leader and as an alpha male, you need to be able to take care of yourself and take care of those around you. So preparing for home invasion, preparing for fire drills, any type of emergency situation, creating situational awareness for yourself and for your family so that they stay and remain safe. physicality comes with that as well. So being mobile, being strong, having endurance, and then after that, we go into purpose. So after you’ve taken care of all the physical and emotional clutter, and you feel confident in a good plan, and you’ve established a bit more of a self presence, then you can start to find out what your purpose is. So that’s what it is all about. And it’s about creating a unity within this group that is never broken. So it’s it’s a it’s a 90 day program. And then I have a legacy, where they go in after that. And they we continue the process, we go through books, we go through challenges, and it’s just it’s an evolution of men, where my goal is to create this massive tribe of men that are that are that are that are that are sensitive, that are vulnerable, but can get you if they need to that are prepared, they can communicate well with themselves and communicate well with you. So that way, when you come to them with a problem or an issue or any sort of thing like that, you can do it, understanding that they will hear you and offer you a good solution. But it’s really about helping these men find out who they are and be happy about life. It’s 90 days, so about three months. Yeah. Okay. It’s a three month program. And then again, it goes into there’s an option to go for an extra year and I do private coaching as well. Beautiful, and that can be found on on prosper down here at the bottom of the homepage. Yeah, where it’s at. Is that off Academy? Yes. Yeah. One last thing. Yeah, I’m creating really, I’m creating I just got some phenomenal feedback from this. I’m gonna have the first beta round and then the middle of June, I’m going to start the young alpha Leadership Academy as well for just for young boys, ages 12 to 15 and 16 to 18 where I take them on a weekend and we take them through all the all the trials to do they’re doing physical, emotional, mental, you know, they’re gonna they’re gonna get cut up, they’re going to change tires they’re going to do they’re going to build their own shelters, and then they go into a 90 day program to solidify that bond. So I’m doing the exact same thing with the with the children that I do with grown men, but reversing it That’s awesome, dude, that’s gonna give them the skills. You know, the Get away from fortnight for at least six Yeah, amen. whatever they’re playing nowadays but mo do me one last favor man and leave us with one last Knowledge Nugget you want us to take with us internalize and take action.

Unknown Speaker  25:08

Yeah

Unknown Speaker  25:11

You know what he wants you to ask yourself? How do you talk to yourself? Are you a critic? Are you an advocate for yourself? And how long would you be friends with somebody who talked to you like you were an asshole? Okay, or a critic to you all the time? How long would you actually stay friends with them? He might look intimidating. He’s actually kind of sensitive. You know, and he wants you life will live this life with purpose exploration funding given he said those four we’ll call them the quads.
