Welcome to time to shine today podcast episode number 37. The power of the handwritten thank you note. This is Scott Ferguson. Let’s level up.

Hey, time to shine squad. How is everybody doing today? I have just been crazy, crazy, crazy busy. And this is totally blessed as well. got awesome interviews that I just dropped with Randy gage t Shane Johnson, Chelsea Reid. We have a bunch of fun ones that are coming up here in the very near future with a gentleman named Talbot Sutter, Carrie climates Andy Fernandez, Matt Seidel and on and on and on and on. So one thing that I am so really enthralled in is being grateful and everybody out there that knows if you listen to my old pal CAS are old blogs, you see that I wake up with an attitude of gratitude every single day. I get up I think my Creator, I think my woman, I think my dog, and I and I write down seven to 10 things about what I’m grateful for that day. And one thing that I am grateful for this been instilled in me by my mentors and other people that I’ve known through the years is networking and being pretty decent at networking, being able to meet people, and really being curious about them and not really caring if they know anything about me in that moment, but just really wanting to connect with them. And listen to them using the Ford if you remember Ford, F or D family, occupation, recreation and dreams. And then immediately when I leave, write a handwritten again hand written thank you note to them. This will do major major kudos To your business, your life, to your connections to your relationships, I promise you, the art of it is gone. Nobody takes the time. Everybody has I feel almost kind of like an egotistical want to let everybody know about them. But when you actually listen to somebody and then send them a thank you note that it will blow them away. Because remember, the little things make people happy. And it costs you very little. You can go to the store, and go to the dollar store and pick up just two cards that say thank you in the you’ll get 10 to 20 cards, go to the post office and get 100 stamps will cost you $40. That’s 100 thank you notes. So for $41 you can send out 100 thank you notes. So talk about cost. And if you don’t have the time to do it, you’re not serious. Yes about making serious, great relationship connections. Life moves so fast that that simple gesture goes such a long way.

Okay, and let me tell you another thing that I have noticed is that I enjoy going to the mailbox and getting mail. I love it before I was like I could not wait I’m Yes, I’m older and I had the AOL You’ve Got Mail. And I looked forward to that and I hated going to the mailbox. Now. I love going the mailbox. Even in my real estate business. We do more mailers now because people like to get stuff in the mail. Okay. And it’s just it’s proven it’s been, I don’t want to call it scientifically but it’s been proven through marketing agencies that people love to get the mail and when they go to the mailbox, and they see a little small card, they know it’s probably something personally Hon, and if they get it from you, and you have your business card in there, and it just says, john, it was great to meet you hear about your family what you do, and then sign it off and say, hey, let’s grab a coffee one to one. That’s what I always put in my, in my thank you notes to the people that I meet. It’s very simple thing to do. But again, as Jim Rohn said, the simple things are simple to do, but they’re also easy and simple not to do. So what I actually do is I have cards in my car in my middle console along with stamps. So when I’m working the room, quote, unquote, and I’m meeting people that I really want to do a one to one coffee and get to know them even better. I get their card. I remember the Ford I have it locked away in my mind about the person. And then I write them a quick thank you note. Again, Jim. Great to meet you. hear about your family. Sounds like you’re going to have a fun trip. Coming Up, are glad to hear your businesses blowing up. I love to have a one to one coffee, let me know was when this convenient Scott, boom, though it, put the stamp on it, I address it, put the stamp on it right there, my car. And then when I go home, I put it right in the mailbox so they get it right around the next day. So just remember, life moves fast. The little things can make a person’s day. So send the thank you card. It will change your life for the better. That’s something that’s so simple. So that’s what I have for you today. A really quick Knowledge Nugget. That’s all stay humble.
