Motivation and bathing
Motivation! The word everyone throws around! Like it’s so damn easy! UGH! One thing I’ve noticed as I’ve aged a little bit is that it gets a bit harder getting out of bed to conquer my day. Bones and joints are sore. And it can just be so easy to fall right back into bed and get that ‘extra hour’ I think I need.
I do take maintenance precautions with my body; eating right (well most days) exercise and flexibility (I’m addicted) and feeding my mind, but our creator likes to test us by giving us days that we feel just off.
My mentality and the mentality that we try and convey and teach here at Time to Shine Today is that when we lay our heads on our pillows at night we have won our day. To do that on a consistent basis we must have a routine that we actually stick to. I know I feel a whole heck of a lot better knowing that I did everything possible to get the win!
The late great Zig Ziglar put it best:
People often say that motivation doesn’t last, Well, neither does bathing — that’s why we recommend it daily. – Zig Ziglar
So yes just as we should be bathing. We must always be adding little nuggets into our routine to keep us motivated!
One consistent part of my routine is Youtube Videos. The motivational ones. I just play it loud through my speakers when I’m going through my morning routine. I do NOT try and concentrate on what is being said I just tune into what I’m doing whether it be cutting my fruit, preparing my post workout shake or stretching and let what is being said seep into my subconscious. I have found that my day gets easier and I stay on point after I listen. And by doing this every day, we have no choice but to almost unconsciously develop the winning mindset. Almost like winning on auto-pilot.
Of course you can’t just listen and wa-la you are motivated. You must stick to your routine and as TR says take ‘Massive Action’.
Adding these videos to my morning arsenal 8 years ago helped with my transformation. HERE IS A FAVORITE OF MINE. Give it a listen and let me know what you think.
Here is a quick knowledge nugget video that I put together with my thoughts.
I’d love to know your thoughts! And also any tips you could share with me on how I could keep leveling up my daily game! Put a comment below or drop us a line directly sf@timetoshinetoday.com
I did mention before that Zig Ziglar was a major influence on my personal development. His book Goals: How to get the most out of Your Life was a game changer for me. I hope you pick up a copy and give it a read!
