“You’re not starting from zero. You’re starting from experience.” 🧠
– Coach Fergie

3 Actionable Take-Aways

  1. You’re not starting from zero—you’re starting from experience. Your relationships, lessons, mistakes, wins, and skills don’t disappear when you change direction. They become part of what you carry into your next chapter. 🧠
  2. Calculate the cost of staying, not just the cost of changing. Fear loves showing you everything that could go wrong if you move. Ask what another year of standing still could cost your energy, peace, relationships, and growth. ⚖️
  3. Make the next move, not the forever move. You don’t need the next ten years figured out. Make the call, have the conversation, explore the opportunity, and take one intelligent step forward. Movement creates clarity. 🚀

[00:00:00] What if actually staying stuck is actually the bigger risk? Welcome back to another three-minute knowledge nugget. I’m Coach Fergie with Time to Shine Today Coaching. Let me ask you something.
Have you ever known something in your life needed to change, but immediately thought, “Maybe I waited too long”? I had this conversation recently with a real estate agent I coach. He’s successful, experienced, he’s closed deals, built relationships, survived different markets, and put years into his business. <<READ MORE>>

But the way he’s been doing business just doesn’t fit the life he wants anymore, and he kept coming back to the same fear. “Coach, what if I make a change and realize I made the wrong decision?” So I asked him, “Are you afraid you’re too late?

Or are you afraid to admit that what worked for the old you doesn’t fit the person you’re becoming? That hit, because listen to me, Changing directions does not mean you wasted the road behind you. My client isn’t starting over. He’s bringing years of negotiation skills, relationships, mistakes, wins, market knowledge, experience, all of it comes with him.

And that’s today’s coaching nugget, squad. You’re not starting from zero. You’re starting from experience. So if you know something needs to change, but fear keeps telling you it’s too late, I want you to do three [00:01:00] things.

Number one, get specific. Don’t say, “I hate my career.” Ask what specifically no longer fits. Maybe it’s not the career. Maybe it’s how you’re doing it, who you’re doing it with, or what you’re tolerating. Number two, calculate the cost of staying. We spend so much time asking, “What if I change and it doesn’t work?”

Okay, what if you don’t change? What’s another year of frustration costing you? Your energy, your peace, your relationships, your growth? Fear will always show you the price of moving. Make it show you the price of standing still. And number three, make the next move, not the forever move. You don’t need ten years figured out today.

Make the phone call. Have the conversation. Explore the opportunity. Test the idea. Take one intelligent step forward, ,

because movement creates clarity that sitting around overthinking never will. So whether you’re thirty-three, forty, fifty-four, like myself, or seventy-four, stop asking, “Am I too late?” Instead, ask yourself, “How much of my future am I willing to sacrifice because I’m afraid to admit my present no longer fits?”

You don’t have [00:02:00] to disrespect who you were to become who you’re meant to be. Take the lessons, take the experience, and move, because sometimes the most expensive decision you’ll ever make is the one you keep refusing to make. So if you ha- if you’re on the fence about something career-wise, if you’re an athlete seeing if it’s the right fit, a coach, and you wanna shine a light on a blind spot you have, give me a call.
