Hey, this is Matt Frazier with the self awareness Academy. And if you want to learn how to level up your life, you should be listening to the time to shine today podcast with my friend, Scott Ferguson.

Unknown Speaker  0:16

Hey, time to shine today varsity squad. This is Scott Ferguson. And we have my really good friend Max Fleischer from the self awareness Academy that’s coming on in as our Creator always says we don’t want anyone to feel like they have no one. We’re always putting people in touch with the the correct individuals that will help you in them level up their life. And today, I had a fantastic conversation with Max Fleischer, and the knowledge nuggets and experience he’s going to drop on you are fantastic. You know, he was going to tell you to be staying tuned to wherever opportunity takes you to live on your own terms and after other people’s validation or verification. So I just He’s a from Argentina, he moved to the states a few decades ago. And he found the beach and he found a niche in a passion of being able to help people through any situation that they’re in and be happy in any situation that you’re in. So, sit back, relax, because here’s my good friend, Max Fleischer.

Unknown Speaker  1:31

Hey, time to shine podcast RC squad. It is Scott Ferguson here, and I have a real treat for you. I have my good friend Max Fleischer. He’s kind of a neighbor. He’s about 60 miles south of us and we’re kind of in de 900 and something of our little quarantine. So it’s really nice to actually talk to people and see another face. But Max is the founder is of self awareness Academy. In Let me tell you a little bit about max I had him write me like a little bio and I’m just going to kind of read it to you because it really flows really good. Mac says I love life and everything I do is aligned with it. Natural entrepreneurs started making his own money at 12 years old Wow. At 20 not finding direction in life found a mentor who taught him how to own his life, to know yourself. After 30 years of practicing self awareness and friends, asking him to share his secrets with them, he create the self awareness Academy for those who have more in them to help and to bring out to live their dreams. That is some serious credentials. Max is an awesome coach, awesome mentor. And Max, if you please come on and introduce yourself but first, tell us your favorite color. And why. Hello, everyone, my favorite is gonna be orange or Wow, no one’s ever said orange and all my interviews. Why is that?

Unknown Speaker  2:55

You’re gonna have a lot of me that nobody ever says that.

Unknown Speaker  2:59

I love it. Why is it orange? Okay.

Unknown Speaker  3:04

There is a big reason to eat. We have and this would be broadly content of what I teach or what’s in my book. But we have eight aspects to our personality and each one of them is related to a color like a rainbow. I talk about everything that is naturally Rainbow is not to the colors in the rainbow and not to the color orange is associated with fun and friends. Anything you do to have fun, you don’t look for a secondary. Gen you don’t have a secondary agenda. You have fun, that’s your reward. Our friends, you have fun with them. You don’t care about sex, religion, social status, those are your real real friends.

Unknown Speaker  3:55

I love that in that that fits you because I you know when we bring something I’d like I reached out and I kind of vetted you out before I even reached out and asked you to come on my show. And I see you’re very social. Like, unfortunately, we can’t be as social as we want to, which must be bothering someone like you a lot with is like, outgoing and vibrant as you are and having friends and in fun. I mean, how are you handling this time? We’re in kind of isolation and quarantine

Unknown Speaker  4:24

you, I mean, the thing with me, is, I know myself really, really well because this is the work I’ve been doing for the last 30 years. So anything that happens in life with me by now it’s automatic, it falls into a certain category without me even thinking, wow. So something like you know, the social distancing that we are experiencing now. I don’t have this thing like I see others do that they are suffering because they cannot have someone else. Okay, your business is going down, you are filing for bankruptcy. Okay? Like, my point is, everything happens to take us somewhere. Sure. And many times, it’s not so obvious. So as long as you stay open to see where this is taking you, then you are okay. So I leave with that mindset of being open to see where this this takes me even if I don’t know what it is. I still know it’s something good for me.

Unknown Speaker  5:35

So you’re always looking at stuff kind of almost as an adventure no matter what the situation is, right?

Unknown Speaker  5:42

I have this thing in my book about living as a series in series is a person with a lot of curiosity. A lot of giving them and a lot of inclusivity when you go a studio You invite people to go with you, you approach others to ask them questions where you can go, and you want to share that experience.

Unknown Speaker  6:08

Wow. Think about it. Being a curious in your own life can really, really increase the quality of it.

Unknown Speaker  6:17

Wow, that’s strong. Hey Max, give us the origins of the self awareness Academy. How did you come about that? You put in a little bit a bit than your bio that I just shared with our squad out there. But give us a little origin story with that, please.

Unknown Speaker  6:33

I was doing well by you know, genetic standards, you know, making money having friends being happy, but I wasn’t feeling good at all. I had this thing in me like, I’m not going anywhere in life. Like if this is it, and I am only 20 I don’t see anything in my future. And long story short, this person that I created As my mentor she told me, most people live through external validation which is living for others building our empire getting a Ferrari doing big things to impress other people like building a great life. And greatness has to do with you comparing yourself to others, right? You can be like an eight ball in a pool table, you know, everybody pulls you in different directions, and as long as you cannot on top, you’re fine. Wow. So she’s told me live through internal validation, which is, no matter what other people say, this is what you do, because you enjoy for your own reasons for your own terms. Right, you leave on your own terms you leave, fulfill. Now, to get to that level, you need to know yourself first. And that’s where self awareness can eat, it teaches you to know yourself at a basic level, you’re got to know what you really, really, really want because of you, and not because of others.

Unknown Speaker  8:13

That’s amazing. So you’re saying that most people live for external validation instead of really living on their own terms and feeling fulfilled with what they’re doing? Did I kind of paraphrase that back the right way?

Unknown Speaker  8:27

Well, you tell me people that are going now through their closest finding club they haven’t used for 10 years, and they bought it because of the brand.

Unknown Speaker  8:36

I love. That’s so true. That’s so true.

Unknown Speaker  8:40

You started going inside, you’re gonna find a lot of things that you do, or even that you work hard, and you’re gonna be like it. Right?

Unknown Speaker  8:50

Mad Max, you see that? You’re very vibrant. You’re very energetic. You’re You’re obviously a great coach. Well, what do you what do you think makes someone a great coach?

Unknown Speaker  9:01

Oh man.

Unknown Speaker  9:05

First of all, I always teach this thing. There are coaches that are mentors and there are teachers. The coach in that trial is the one that takes you where you want to go. I come from the tennis world, everything is players as a coach. The coach helps you achieve your dreams. So a great coach should put you before themselves. The reward of the coach is you the student, or a tennis player. I don’t know piano player or a business person is to put you to get you to where you want to get. And that’s the sign of a great coach. I love get you where you want to go.

Unknown Speaker  10:02

And I love that. That’s selfless. How? Yeah. How do you when you first meet somebody to make sure they’re the right fit for you? How do you make How? What kind of questions are you asking them so you can help them? Take them to the next level? What’s your secret sauce to find their blind spot? Oh man.

Unknown Speaker  10:24

What I look for is a person that wants to change the fundamentals of their life and not just recreate the details. I’ll give you an example. Because a person coming to me I need to make more money because I want to change my car I go and buy a new car. She was a mom. Good mom. She wanted a big yes SUV to take the kids and on that and say okay, you know, get a new job. Do something part time even if money is the issue, you know, that’s what everybody would do. She cost me a month later. Like, she didn’t get a job. She didn’t increase her money, nothing but she got the SUV.

Unknown Speaker  11:16

Why?

Unknown Speaker  11:18

Because I told her you don’t need to work, your husband combined this up. So if you really, really, really want this up, you can have it just like that. Sure. So you need to identify whether you want to celebrate or complain, because he was in the complaining side of things, saying that you need to go on war to make money to get a new car. So if you want to be in that side of things, there is nothing I can do for you. But if you want to move from the complaining to the celebrating, then I can help you do that. Before her, that’s what she recalled.

Unknown Speaker  12:02

Back. That’s amazing. Let’s go back. Do you have a tennis background? Did you play competitively?

Unknown Speaker  12:08

Yeah, but not at the professional level where you make money playing other people who might not.

Unknown Speaker  12:14

Right? Gotcha. I just, I just I take tennis lessons I try I’m not that good. But I think it’s just such a great game that has longevity as I get older, almost 50 years old. I’m able to kind of move around and you’re in great shape. So anybody that watches on video, this guy’s very well put together. Hey, Max, if we were to go back in time, and you were to able to have a chat with the 22 year old Max Fleischer. What would you pass on to him with what you know now?

Unknown Speaker  12:48

This is a great question. And

Unknown Speaker  12:53

I you I would say dream beam

Unknown Speaker  12:58

the rest takes care of itself.

Unknown Speaker  13:03

You can work really, really, really, really, really, really hard, you know, with great discipline, and I had all that. But if you’re in the dramatic side of things, you are gonna stay working really, really hard not accomplishing much because drama brings drama. Or when you have a big dream on the what I call the fantastic side of things, then those things aligned also. So your work is it’s enjoyable because you are aligned with your dreams. If you don’t have big dreams, then you’re okay. You’re already working hard. You there’s nothing wrong with that, right? There’s nothing wrong with not having big dreams, sure. But in my case, no knowing my capabilities know my discipline in knowing My work ethic if I like big dreams that would have you know unleash a lot of things in my life, right?

Unknown Speaker  14:13

22 year old kid, I would say dream big and go for it and celebrate your, like you said let’s celebrate right? Everything that you can attain and achieve and progress. Let’s celebrate. But how do you handle failure then? How like, not failure because I always say we in time to shine today we say we fail forward. You know, we learn from it. And we put a little notch in that knowledge belt. What do you how do you deal with failure?

Unknown Speaker  14:40

Yeah, I got that from you. I listen to a lot of your podcast Thank you really bring the good, the positive side of things are really good at detecting someone that probably three, three and you point out Hey, you can use this to grow I saw that in you and that’s

Unknown Speaker  15:03

the thing with me. There is no failure.

Unknown Speaker  15:09

There are only events. And as long as you are aware of where you are going, you just learn from those events. When I played tennis, what I what I what I teach players is you can be ahead you can be behind, but you need to pay attention to the little details. We’re

Unknown Speaker  15:33

losing.

Unknown Speaker  15:34

Right and you know, it’s a long journey people get hung up on like, they lost one client.

Unknown Speaker  15:42

deal, right?

Unknown Speaker  15:45

I

Unknown Speaker  15:47

I really, I lost that failure thing. I really lost like 20 years, took me 10 years to learn what I know. And 20 years of practice Now, I really don’t feel we don’t have it done. I really easy

Unknown Speaker  16:09

for me to relate to that.

Unknown Speaker  16:11

Oh, good for you. That’s great. You’re old a lot about, you know, celebration in whatnot. You’re from Argentina. Correct. I was born in Argentina. Yeah. How long have you been in the United States if you don’t mind sharing? Oh, I can 30 years now. 30 Okay, Google’s been doing for me. I know I like the beach since I’m a kid and in Argentina, Mercedes, we didn’t have a breach. Right? And when I came to Miami, I said this is home for me. This is it. You have a lot of family back there still max.

Unknown Speaker  16:45

All my family’s back there. And so now we assume probably we can and we do. One thing that these these stands and this is something very important that I believe On this Coronavirus environment. I have a very loving parents, and my mom passed away last year. Now this year because of all this distancing, I got closer to my dad, because we’re spending probably an hour a day of gym, you know, over zoom. And we’d have conversations we didn’t have before.

Unknown Speaker  17:29

Okay, that’s good. So,

Unknown Speaker  17:30

well, this brings me back to what we’ve been talking about. To me, my relationship with my dad is very important. And being positive is very important in accomplishing things is very important. So I never cried about all these social distancing. I was open and curious to see how things are gonna be better. Right, and I didn’t expect this, but this is getting me closer to my dad. So that is all Good. When you have good in you, there is always a happy development when you are happy inside.

Unknown Speaker  18:07

That’s true.

Unknown Speaker  18:09

That’s fantastic. That’s strong. So what is Max’s definition of a life well lived.

Unknown Speaker  18:21

We’ve got manifesting points, I talk about that in my book. You set your own manifesting points, those are the things you want to accomplish you want to happen. There is a fantastic site to the points and if dramatic side of the points and I’ll give you an example I write in my book, you go to the Oprah, the Oprah, there is this solo artist that salutes at the end and gets the big check. Then you have you know, the Charles and the extra, all the other people on the stage right? That’s on the fantastic side of things, you know, people who get on stage, some have a higher level of manifesting, some have a lower level of money. You know, the soul or this is a higher level than the people in the extras,

Unknown Speaker  19:17

right?

Unknown Speaker  19:18

Then you have the dramatic side, the dramatic side are the singer who then didn’t get the part, the singer that we know about the elevation, those studying the dramatic side of things. And they’re more dramatic, like the person that didn’t even know about them. The issue has a very low level of drama. Right? So my point is, we all want different things. You need to know exactly you’re manifesting points because if you don’t hear about being this solo at the opera, the solo singer, Bill pyrrha. And you’re just happy being on stage, then you’re happy? Sure. No, there’s no point of you crying over what you don’t. You weren’t you didn’t get it, you really don’t even want the problem in life people complain about things they don’t even want.

Unknown Speaker  20:25

Their definition of life I live really is be happy. Within whatever situation you’re in and celebrate no matter where you’re at. Correct. You need to know what makes you happy. No, you have a friend you and everybody listening now you have a friend who complains about everything. Everything.

Unknown Speaker  20:51

Everything. It’s like you come with flowers and they say what do you mean bring jockey you know? They come every You remember when they complain? They’ll always find something in life. Well leave for them

Unknown Speaker  21:08

is complaining complaining,

Unknown Speaker  21:10

then right? Then Then why are you complaining all the time? I’m talking this way, let me alone, right? So there’s a man. We need to learn what make others happy. Leave them alone, celebrate them, respect them.

Unknown Speaker  21:27

They are happy that way. I am happy my way

Unknown Speaker  21:32

of that. That well, Max, thank you for that we’re gonna. That’s amazing. Because either they’re celebrating or complaining, but even if someone’s complaining, it’s their version of celebrating in a sentence. Correct. I love it. All right, we’re gonna move in. As we wind things down a little bit. We’re going to move into our leveling up lightning round. These got to be five second answers, no more no, no explanations. I’m going to ask five or six questions. from you, you’re just going to give me your answers. You’re ready. I yeah, there we go. What’s the best leveling up advice you’ve ever received? Don’t quit on a bad day. Love it. That’s that’s strong. share one of your personal habits that contributes to your success.
